Virginia City 601 Vigilance Committee Is Active Again

775 Off Road Recovery Shows Up LARGE!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Virginia City, Nevada — July 14, 2026 — The Virginia City 601 Vigilance Committee has donated $500 to 775 Offroad & Recovery following the success of the inaugural Virginia City Jeep Stampede.

The Jeep Stampede was created as both a fundraiser and a way to reconnect participants with Virginia City’s historic past. The event allowed Jeep enthusiasts to travel through the same rugged country once crossed by miners, settlers, stagecoaches, and freight wagons during the Comstock era.

“Virginia City’s history extends far beyond the buildings on C Street,” said Hunter Hampton, Trail Boss of the Virginia City 601 Vigilance Committee. “These trails were once essential routes for the people, supplies, and equipment that helped build the Comstock. The Jeep Stampede gave participants an opportunity to experience that landscape while supporting our historical and community mission.”

775 Offroad & Recovery played an important role in the event by standing ready to assist with any recovery needs along the trail. Their presence helped the 601 provide participants with a safer and more professionally supported experience.

The $500 donation recognizes their contribution and supports the work of 775 Offroad & Recovery, a Northern Nevada 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

“Their team was there for us, and we appreciate the role they played in making the event a success,” Hampton said. “We look forward to partnering with them again at next year’s Jeep Stampede.”

Funds raised through the Jeep Stampede will help the organization preserve and promote Virginia City’s Western heritage, support community activities, and continue developing events that bring people together through the history of the Comstock.
