FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

601 Vigilance Committee Shares Historic Mirror with Iconic Delta Saloon in Virginia City

Virginia City, NV — May 25, 2025 — The 601 Vigilance Committee, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving Old West values and history, is sharing a historic mirror now displayed inside the world-famous Delta Saloon in Virginia City.

Professionally etched with the words “Virginia City NV”, the mirror features a perspective image of C Street and is adorned with a gold 601 badge marking the organization’s founding year, 1857. This striking piece now hangs proudly in the Delta Saloon as a tribute to the Comstock’s rugged frontier heritage.

A formal presentation will follow the Virginia City Memorial Day Parade at 1:00 PM inside the saloon. Members of the 601, dressed in full period regalia, will be available for photos, storytelling, and historical insight.

“The Delta Saloon is a monument to the spirit of the West,” said Lee Nashold, spokesperson for the 601. “This mirror is more than décor — it’s a piece of living history and a reflection of the values that helped shape this town.”

The event is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to view the mirror, hear its story, and learn more about the mission and legacy of the 601 Vigilance Committee.
